Interim Priest
The Reverend Edmund Pickup (also known as Father Ed) is a retired Episcopal priest who served 26 years as Rector of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Franklin, Va. His most recent experience was as Interim Rector at St. Andrews in Greensboro, where he provided a bridge between a long-time Rector and a new call.
We expect him to be with us until we call our next Rector sometime in mid-2021.
Rev. Ed is a native of Charlotte who grew up in Myers Park, graduated from Myers Park High School and, a few years ago, moved back into his childhood home.
Deacon
Deacon Lynn Plummer joined St. Mark's Episcopal in 2017, as a newly ordained deacon. His diaconal internship year was spent at St. Alban’s in Davidson, NC. Lynn is a cradle Episcopalian who attended Christ Episcopal Church in Cleveland, NC. He began serving liturgically in his youth as a crucifer and acolyte, and at eighteen began to serve as a lay reader and Lay Eucharistic Minister. Additional church activities included vestryman, senior warden, and convention delegate.
Lynn graduated from Catawba College in 1977, with a BA in Business Administration. Since graduation, he worked in production management. Lynn and his wife have been married almost forty years, and they have two grown children. Lynn enjoys spending his spare time enjoying beautiful places in God’s creation.
Lynn's is interested in the outreach needs in North Mecklenburg County. During his diaconal formation, he found his calling in pastoral care with patients in hospitals, long term care facilities, and assisted living communities. As your deacon, he is prepared to work with you by bringing the world into the church and taking the church to aid in those needs.
