Flyin' Lion Ministries

A new ministry is coming to St. Mark's in 2021! The Flyin' Lion Transition to Employment program will provide a faith-filled environment where women facing poverty, domestic violence and homelessness are prepared for work in the food service industry. Through this job training program, participants will benefit from experience with professional chefs, interview and job skills coaching, and the opportunity to grow in self-confidence. All participants will complete the ServSafe food handling safety course and exam to ensure that they have the knowledge and experience needed to secure employment and to continue successful job performance in the future.

St. Mark’s has recently been granted $72,777 from the United Thank Offering for the purchase of the commercial appliances needed for this project. Construction is now underway for the new building in which the ministry will be hosted, and classes are expected to start by April 2021.
